Experience

Fifteen years across product companies and consulting, from line-of-business code to enterprise architecture.

  1. Now

    The Architect / Leader

Tech lead, modernisation, shaping how teams deliver.

  2. to present

    Tech lead and architect

    gravity9

Multi-year engagement on a national healthcare platform: large-scale integrations, migrations and modernisation of core systems. I lead the team, and spend as much time teaching people how to build systems well as building them.

    • Led integration and modernisation across a large estate of services connecting the platform's core enterprise systems, guiding a cross-functional team through it.
    • Ran architecture audits for clients that ended in concrete change proposals tied to business targets, not slide decks that die in a drawer.
    • Facilitated event storming and domain discovery workshops that got business and engineering working from the same model.
    • Designed an AI-native delivery process, built around AI from the start rather than bolted onto the old way of working, so a small team ships like a big one.

Technology: .NET, Azure, APIM, Service Bus, Terraform, Event Storming

  3. to

    Architect

    gravity9

Planned, architected and delivered the modernisation of an industry leader's legacy systems.

    • Built a new Angular application from scratch to replace the legacy front end.
    • Retired a set of legacy applications and turned releases from rare, high-risk events into a regular, predictable cadence.

    Technology: .NET, Angular, Azure

  4. Azure years

    The Integrator

Systems talking to systems, cloud, infrastructure as code.

  5. to

    Senior associate

    EY GDS Poland

The move from building systems to designing them, with mentoring less experienced developers as part of the job, not a side task.

    • Architected a scalable file-processing system for iXBRL financial reporting, built for high daily volumes and filing-deadline peaks.
    • Built an API gateway solution for the financial sector.

Technology: .NET Core, Angular, Azure Functions, SignalR, Redis, EF Core

  6. to

    Consultant and senior consultant

    Infusion / Avanade Poland

Enterprise scale and regulated stakes, plus my first experience leading a team across several projects at once.

    • Delivered a MiFID II compliance system for a large Canadian commercial bank, integrated with its legacy core.
    • Built a Dockerized microservices platform for a leading pharmaceutical company, including Surface Hub applications.
    • Led a team running 3 to 5 projects in parallel across .NET, Ruby on Rails and Android.

Technology: .NET Core, Angular, Docker, WPF, EF Core, Dapper

  7. Early career

    The Builder

Shipping .NET apps, learning production the hard way.

  8. to

    Software engineer

    NeuroSYS

Four products in four domains in under two years, which taught me that understanding the business is half the job.

    • Built CRM systems with live work and position tracking, and one for an energy company covering customers, invoices and meters.
    • Developed an application analysing US real estate prices and debt.

Technology: ASP.NET MVC, Entity Framework, TypeScript, jQuery

  9. to

    C# web developer

    X-CODE

Shipping real systems while still studying, and learning production the hard way.

    • Built software modelling how fire and smoke spread inside buildings, used by firefighters.
    • Led my first team, on a platform distributing employee social benefits.

    Technology: ASP.NET, AngularJS, T-SQL, NHibernate

  10. to

    Computer science and software engineering

    BiaƂystok University of Technology

I fell for C# and wrote every project in it I could get away with.

    • First serious build: my own virtual desktop manager for Windows, years before Windows shipped one.

    Technology: C#, .NET, WinAPI

  11. Childhood

    The Tinkerer

First computer, breaking and fixing things, Linux, first code.

  12. to

    Picking a side

    High school, IT profile class

Somewhere here "something with computers" turned into "software developer".

    • Went deeper into C++ and discovered PHP and the web.

    Technology: C++, PHP, HTML

  13. to

The family PC never stood a chance

    Home

First computer, and soon after, my first format and a hunt for drivers I had to install by hand.

    • Installed Linux from a CD and spent far too long making it work.
    • First clumsy attempts at C++, and the certainty that my future involved computers.

    Technology: Linux, C++, curiosity
